Online & Hybrid options | 30 Credits
- Earn electives that can be applied toward endorsements in basic science, biology, chemistry, computer science, earth/space science, physics, or STEM.
- Build a strong foundation in science content knowledge to complement research-based pedagogical classroom practice, aligning with Next Generation Science Education Standards
- Complete the program in as little as 2.5 years or take longer by adjusting the number of electives taken each term

Online & Hybrid options
Required courses listed on the course sequence (button below) are all offered online via Zoom interactive video conferencing on Wednesday evenings (central time) and during the Summer. Courses are also supported online using Blackboard, a dynamic platform that will enhance your learning experience and provide a sense of community with fellow classmates.
Elective coursework varies and depends on individual student interest and availability, but may be completed entirely online or may include hybrid or in-person courses.
Our graduates are prepared to:
- Continue on in the classroom as highly qualified practitioners
- Move into administrative or state agency roles
- Pursue additional graduate work (Ph.D. or Ed.D.)
Individualized Support Services
Throughout every step of your program, you'll have a dedicated team of support staff ready to assist you. You'll also have access to UNI services such as:
- Personalized academic advising
- Support from Financial Aid, Career Services and Rod Library staff
- Academic support and tutoring opportunities from the Learning Center
- Access to student accessibility services and staff
- Technical support assistance
