Delivery Options

Self Paced Online Courses - SPOC delivers an effective, flexible alternative to traditional, semester-based courses. Enroll at any time, work at your own pace and take up to nine months to complete a web-based course.

Online semester-based courses - We offer many semester-based courses at a distance. 

On-campus courses - If you are within commuting distance of UNI, you may wish to consider on-campus or hybrid courses to complete your degree. 

Transfer courses - As long as you complete a minimum of 30 semester hours from UNI during your junior and/or senior years, you may be able to enroll in courses at a community college or another four-year institution.

  • utilize critical thinking and advanced communication skills
  • begin or advance careers in business, social service agencies, hospitality, government and more

Future Ready Scholarships available

Through the UNI at Iowa Community Colleges (UNI@IACC) initiative, students in this program may qualify to receive a scholarship covering the difference between community college and UNI tuition. To be eligible, you must complete the FAFSA and meet income and academic eligibility criteria.  Scholarship requirements include:

  • an associate's degree or 24+ credits from an Iowa Community College
  • a GPA of 2.0 or higher and be admissible to UNI
  • submitting the FAFSA, demonstrating financial need, as defined by the American Rescue Plan

Completing the FAFSA will allow UNI to potentially reduce or eliminate a student's remaining balance through other forms of financial aid, based on availability.

Students may apply for admission at any time throughout the year. The program is available to all who qualify.

Qualifications include:

  • 24 credits completed from an accredited institution (recommended)
  • a cumulative 2.0 grade point average or above
