Admission Requirements

An Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree is preferred or 60 hours of college credit. If these guidelines are not met, please contact James for an appointment - there still may be an option to complete the program.

Admission to UNI College of Business requires:

  • 30 cumulative semester hours of college credit
  • C- or better in: ECON 1021 or ECON 1011
  • C- of better in: ECON 1041
  • C- or better in an approved English composition course
  • A minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Need to have an AA or and AS degree

  • Our graduates will be able to serve effectively in a wide gamut of management positions such as production supervisor, business manager, employee relations manager, service representative, business analyst, development services manager, human resources manager, school administrator, etc.
  • Take classes from a broad range of business courses to shape a program that conforms to your scholastic and long-term career goals; courses include marketing, finance, human resources, operations management, information systems, ethics and international business
  • This program provides you with a solid understanding and experience in common core business practices

Future Ready Scholarships available

Through the UNI at Iowa Community Colleges (UNI@IACC) initiative, students in this program may qualify to receive a scholarship covering the difference between community college and UNI tuition. To be eligible, you must complete the FAFSA and meet income and academic eligibility criteria.  Scholarship requirements include:

  • an associate's degree or 24+ credits from an Iowa Community College
  • a GPA of 2.0 or higher and be admissible to UNI
  • submitting the FAFSA, demonstrating financial need, as defined by the American Rescue Plan

Completing the FAFSA will allow UNI to potentially reduce or eliminate a student's remaining balance through other forms of financial aid, based on availability.
