Course Development Proposal and Guidelines

Priority is given to the development of courses that fill gaps in current offerings and increase access to educational opportunities. Evidence of demand for the proposed course is considered. Collaborative proposals that include the coordinated development of courses applicable to online endorsement, certificate or degree programs are encouraged. Proposals that include courses to broaden the offerings for non-traditional students, enhance existing distance education programs or meet a General Education Program (UNIFI) requirement are also encouraged.

The stipend for UNI faculty/staff for developing a new GIS course is $1000 per unit of credit. The new course development stipend will be paid one time only for a given course. Payment will be made to the assigned faculty member upon review and approval of the finished course. The Office of Online and Distance Education will handle all administrative functions relative to the course.
