Courses are delivered online asynchronously through Blackboard, a learning management system designed to enhance your learning experience and foster a sense of community. Some courses also include bi-weekly Zoom meetings. The MAE pathway consists of:
- The 12-credit Transformative Education graduate certificate, consisting of four courses that integrate theory with practice, research, leadership, policy, ethics, and law. Click here to view the rotation of courses.
- An additional graduate certificate in areas such as English as a Second Language, Special Education, Computer Science (5-12), Physical Education, Career & Technical Education, and more.
- A culminating project that completes the required credit hours.
Our graduates are prepared to:
- Support district innovations for restricting schools and experiences to support all student learners.
- Facilitate team discussions and innovative conversations that support individualized learning and alternative pathways to content knowledge and skills development.
- Use a lens of social-emotional learning that supports all students in school success.
- Facilitate changes by district-level administrators working on curriculum updates and policies.

Throughout every step of your program, you'll have a dedicated team of support staff ready to assist you. You'll also have access to UNI services such as:
- Personalized academic advising
- Support from Financial Aid, Career Services and Rod Library staff
- Academic support and tutoring opportunities from the Learning Center

To be admitted, students must have:
- 2.75 is the minimum GPA to be accepted without provision; applicants with a GPA lower than 2.75 may still be admitted provisionally, at the discretion of the program and the Division of Graduate Studies.CV/Resume
