For Self-Paced Online Courses
For self-paced online courses, all students pay the same tuition and fees, regardless of academic level and/or location (in-state or out-of-state). Tuition and fees are due at the time of enrollment. Click here for a complete list of tuition and fee costs.
Pay online or by mail.
Tuition and fees are charged to your university bill (U-Bill) and sent electronically to your UNI email address. Every student is assigned a UNI email address and you can log in at email.uni.edu. Payments can be made at one of the following locations:
- Online by e-check or credit card through MyUNIverse
- UNI accepts MasterCard, Visa and Discover
- By mail (include student name and UID number on the check):

Important note for UNI students
Tuition for self-paced online courses is in addition to full-time, on-campus rates. Financial aid is not available to students who are enrolled in self-paced online courses. However, students enrolled at least half-time in regular coursework are eligible for federal financial aid. The aid may apply toward their total bill, which may include charges for self-paced online courses. Contact the Financial Aid Office at 319-273-2700 with any questions.

Refund Policy
Students are required to pay all of their tuition and fees for self-paced online courses, even if no assignments or exams have been submitted or there has been no attempt to access the course. However, if after enrolling, a decision is made to withdraw from the course, then the following policy applies. Withdrawal or cancellation occurs on the calendar day the withdrawal is requested via our online withdrawal request form, via email sent to gis-program@uni.edu or the postmark date of a request received via postal mail.

When a refund/credit is granted, a charge of $15 is deducted for each assignment and examination that has been graded. All course materials must be returned to the Office of Online & Distance Education. The $10 enrollment fee is not refundable.
