**If needed, students can extend their elective coursework beyond these six terms.
- Total required elective credits: 13 credits for students on a non-thesis program or 10 credits for students on a thesis program.
- Elective coursework is offered each term and can be taken concurrently with required coursework. Specific elective courses vary each term and may include courses in biology, chemistry, computer science, educational psychology, earth/space science, physics, or special topics in science education.
- Total credits required for SCI ED 6299: 3 credits for non-thesis projects or 6 credits for thesis projects. Projects are based on student interest and developed under the mentorship of a science education faculty advisor.
