Empower Educators Scholarship

UNI's College of Education is offering scholarships to support teachers who are seeking licensure in select endorsement and graduate certificate programs. Whether you’re looking to specialize in a certain subject area, advance your credentials, or expand your teaching practice, the Empower Educators Scholarship is designed to help make your goals more attainable. 

This dedicated scholarship will offset the cost difference between graduate-level course tuition and undergraduate tuition, a savings of $220 per credit for educators seeking one of the following programs: 

  • Special and Inclusive Education for Young Learners Graduate Certificate / PK-K Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement - #262 endorsement
  • Early Childhood Education Endorsement: Iowa Birth-Grade 3 Inclusive Settings - #1001 endorsement
  • Transformative Education Graduate Certificate

Scholarship Criteria

  • Endorsement or graduate certificate-seeking student pursuing one of the programs listed above.
  • Must enroll in a graduate level course.
  • Completed scholarship application.

Next Steps

  1. Submit your scholarship application (using the form on the right).
  2. Complete the 'Express Interest' form on the endorsement page.
  3. Upon submission, UNI staff will contact you about next steps, including transcript review.
  4. If awarded, the scholarship will be applied to your u-bill upon enrollment.
  5. This scholarship does not automatically renew. Students can submit the scholarship application each term it is available.
